Seven different types of surgical gloves (Readiwrap-N^[○!R], Nipro Disposable^[○!R], Triflex Regular^[○!R], Triflex Low Powdered^[○!R], Ultraderm^[○!R], Ansell Gamex^[○!R], and Dentcraft Latex^[○!R]) were used in the Conservative Dentistry Clinic of Matsumoto Dental College to evaluate their usefulness in dental treatment. The results obtained are as follows. 1. Triflex Low Powdered surgical gloves were appraised best, followed by Ansell Gamex. The five remaining types were judged inferior to these two products. 2. The surface of all types became increasingly sticky with the length of utilization and repeated scrubbing. This made it difficult to form cotton pledgets or to wrap absorbent cotton around the end of a broach, for cleaning or applying medication. 3. It was recognized that one important factor in the ease of use is the selection of gloves that fit the hands well.
