A Statistical Observation of Computed Tomography Scanning during 1988-1993 in Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Matsumoto Dental University Dental Hospital
Computed tomographic (CT) equipment was placed in the Matsumoto Dental University Hospital in June 1988, and was employed in more than 1200 examinations to March 1993. In order to determinie whether the CT examinations were reasonably applied during this period, we studied 697 cases retrospectively regarding numbers, age, sex, kind of disease and numbers of ordinary and specific examinations. The statistical results revealed that the examinations for the first 5 years were appropriately performed in diagnosing diseases in the maxillo-facial region, and specifically functioned in the regions and tissues of benign or malignant tumors.
