We uncountered a patient with a submandibular abscess in whom diagnostic imaging with computed tomographic scanning was difficult. Ultrasonography was relatively more useful for this purpose as it revealed the abscess in the left submandibluar region. In this report, we describe the features in this case along with the diagnostic imaging findings.
