| 内容記述 | In this study, we evaluated the effectiveness intra periodontal pocket insertion with IG paste containing 20% guaiacol using gingival index (GI), probing depth (PD), plaque control record (PCR), bleeding index (BI) and quantity of gingival crevicular fluid (GCF). The subjects were 59 outpatients of the Department of Periodontics, Matsumoto Dental College who had no systemic disease and had not been administered antibiotics during the past month. Teeth that occupied nearly symmetric positions of the same mouth, had been affected by gingivitis or periodontitis, had a probing depth of 3-6mm, and had been bleeding in at least 1 of 4 tooth planes were studied. IG paste was applied to the periodontal pockets of the teeth of the IG group once a week for 4 weeks, and clinical parameters were compared with those in the untreated control group. 1) Improvement in the probing depth was significantly greater (p<0.01) in the IG group than in the control group after the 4 weeks treatment. 2) The improvements in the quantity of gingival crevicular fluid was significantly greater (p<0.01) in the IG group than in the control group after the 4 weeks treatment. 3) The improvements in the bleeding index was significantly greater in the IG group than in the control group throughout the treatment period (p<0.05-0.01). 4) No side effects were observed during the study. These results indicate that local application of IG paste is effective for th e prevention and treatment of periodontal disease. | |||||||
