The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a fluoride mouth-rinsing program for orthodontic patients with braces during active treatment. The subjects were 25 orthodontic patients with braces ranging from 11 to 17 years old. Fifteen patients were subjected to the fluoride mouth-rinsing program and 10 patients were not. As a result of the analysis, the increase in the DMFT index in the fluoride mouth-rinsing program group was significantly smaller than that in the non-fluoride mouth-rinsing program group.
