In 1803, another English surgeon, Joseph Fox, also published a book with the same title as Hunter's, but it is not as famous as the former. However, Fox's work is remembered for its description of appliances for correcting dental irregularity and his account of diseases which affect children during their first dentition. I will review Fox's book. It has ll capters as follows : 1. Of the Formation of the Temporary Set of Teeth. 2. Of the Formation of the Permanent Set of Teeth. 3. Of the Manner in which the Teeth are Formed. 4. Of the Shedding of the Teeth, 5. Of the Irregularity of the Teeth. 6. Of the Treatment to Prevent Irregularity of the Teeth. 7. The Treatment to Remedy Irregularity of the Teeth. 8. Of Supernumerary Teeth. 9. Of the Decay of the Temporary Teeth. 10. Of the Diseases which attend Dentition. 11.
