In adult dogs. of which P_2 P_3 P_4 teeth had been extracted, two HAP ceramics implants were inserted, to the holes made in the mandibules of the dogs three months after extraction, and one of them was cut off its head at the level of the alveolar ridge. The dogs were sacrificed three months after insertion and the tissues surrounding the HAP ceramics implants were histologically investigated. Three months after implantation, all the surfaces of embedded implants are covered with newly formed bones. These bones were made direct contact with the ceramics. In unembedded implants, newly formed bones covered the surface of the implants, but a small amount of fiberous connective tissues was detected in the bone-implant interface.
