Histopathologic findings from resected specimen showed that the polyp was surrounded by stratified squamous epithelium and that the neck was situated at the perforated portion of floor of pulp chamber and had been broken due to extraction. Root canal polyp in the distal root was covered with stratified squamous epithelium and did not connect with the polyp.
