Elusion and overcoming pain is a big challenge in Medicine. In recent years, pain research has greatly advanced, because, the structure and function of neurotransmitters and their receptors have been analyzed by molecular biology techniques. The cloning of the capsaicin receptor especially is a current topic for pain researchers (Julius et al. 1997).
