Osteoblasts express RANKL as a membrane-associated factor in response to various factors such as 1,25 dihydroxy vitamin D_3, parathyroid hormone, prostaglandin E_2 and Interluekin-11. The recent progress of bone cell biology has been exploring the mechanism of tooth movement for clinical orthodontics.
