The patient was 7-year-old male for whom dental treatment was scheduled under general anesthesia because of mental retardation. He was diagnosed with cerebral infarction by MRI at 5 years old. His face showed so-called 'mask-like face' due to facial nerve palsy and he needed assistance for almost all aspects of daily life. The patient demonstrated about 18 mm of oral excursion between the upper alveolar ridge and the lower incisor, as the upper incisors were residual roots. A・diazepam suppository (4 mg) was administered 90 minutes before the start of anesthesia. After the establishment of a venous route, anesthesia was induced with thiopental sodium (50 mg) and nasotracheal intubation was done after the administration of vecuronium bromide (1.5 mg). The anesthesia was maintained with oxygen (21/min), nitrous oxide (31/min) and isofulurane (0.4 to 1.0%). Caries treament for 4 teeth, extraction for 5 teeth and extension of the frenulum of the upper lip were performed. The anesthesia was completed uneventfully after 3 hours and 15 minutes.}, pages = {129--132}, title = {Moebius症候群の全身麻酔経験}, volume = {26}, year = {2000} }
