The enzymatic activity was almost completely inhibited by 1mM CdCl_2, HgCl_2 or ZnCl_2 and recovered by simultaneous addition of 2mM dithiothreitol, indicating the presence of sulfhydryl groups required for enzyme activity. The activity appeared to be the same whether 1mM or 3mM MnCl_2 was added.
