| 内容記述 | For the purpose of searching the mechanism of salivary calculus formation, a salivary calculus obtained from the duct of the submandibular gland of a 65-year-old woman was examined by scanning and transmission electron microscopes and electron probe microanalysers from the point of view of the relationship between the calculus and microorganisms. The results were as follows: 1) Cocci and filamentous microorganisms were observed both on the surface and inside the salivary calculus. 2) Filamentous microorganisms on the surface had double membrane structures and a nucleus. 3) Needle-like deposits in the cytoplasm of the filamentous microorganisms showed an intracellular calcification. 4) The distribution of intracellular calcium salts differed each microorganisms. Some contained the elements of P and Ca among higher at the periphery, while in others they were higher in the center. | |||||||
