| 内容記述 | Dental prosthesis odor or smell has received little attention. In particular, the odor of removable appliances such as removable partial and complete dentures made from acrylic resins are quite unfamiliar to patients and practitioners. It seems that the smell of resin dentures is unpleasant for some people, especially when a denture wearer is talking with a non-denture wearer. We conducted a survey on resin denture odor. Almost one hundred denture wearers were surveyed and their awareness of the odor was evaluated. The results were as follows: 1) About 20% of them felt that the smell of their dentures was unpleasant. 2) The ratio of those using dentures to those not using dentures at night was larger for women than men. 3) Hardly any of the men used denture cleaners. 4) When a fragrance could be added to the dentures, the survey showed that most people preferred peppermint oil. | |||||||
