| 内容記述 | Prosthetic treatment for patients with cleft lip and palate is extremely difficult because of the both their severe malposition of anterior teeth and the defect of alveolar bone and ridge. The aesthetic considerations for young adult women patients are very important not only from a cosmetic viewpoint but also from a psychological one. One patient was a 21-year-old woman and the other a 19-year-old woman. Both patients desired the improvement and alteration of their considerably malpositioned maxillary anterior teeth as well as of the defect of the anterior alveolar ridge. We did this by means of fixed partial dentures. The fixed partial denture is preferable for young adult women but is difficult to keep clean because of accumulation in the region of the cleft. However, the removable partial denture has some disadvantages in providing adequate aesthetic benefits and functional treatment, particularly with young women patients who object psychologically to removable dentures. This article describes how to improve aesthetically and functionally by fixed and removable partial dentures the condition of patients with cleft lip and palate. | |||||||
