| 内容記述 | The Fasciculus medicinae of Johannes de Ketham, first published in Venice in 1491, occupies a unique place in the history of medicine as the first medical book to be illustrated with beautiful wood-cuts. Recently, an English translation of this book was prepared by the American scholar Luke Demaitre, materially assisted by the 1924 Lier facsimiles of the Fasciculus medicinae. Herein I review this book. It contains six wood-cuts and texts on sexual acts, drugs, pestilence, and so on. The wood-cuts focus on a circle of urine glasses, on venesection, flebotomy with planetary signs, on woman, on surgery, and on anatomy. | |||||||
