| 内容記述 | Fusion of teeth is a developmental anomaly, commonly affecting the deciduous dentition, particularly the lower anterior teeth. Previously reported maxillary molar cases were rare. We report a case of fused teeth which appeared in a 71-year-old Japanese female. The main part of the affected tooth was likely to be a third molar with a single short-curved root and another small root protruded from the occulusal part of the third molar. Microscopically, the fused area of enamel and dentin showed no abnormal structure except for slightly irregular alignments of dentinal tubules. Interestingly, this anomaly was suspected as the coronal fusion between the right maxillary, incompletely impacted third molar and supernumerary tooth, which resulted in unusual morphology mimicking a complex odontoma. | |||||||
