| 内容記述 | A case of acute suppurative parotid space infection in a 68-year-old female is presented. The etiology of this case was the accidental cannulation of foreign bodies of the left parotid duct, initiating the obstruction-infection cycle in the parotid space. Discharged foreign bodies were identified as "Pennisctum japonicum Tririus", i.e.a kind of weed. A possible foreign body should be considered one of causes in the diagnosis and treatment of unexplainable and/or prolonged infection of the oral and maxillofacial regions. | |||||||
