内容記述 The surface of the teeth was measured original, reformed instrument Micro Color Computers (M.C.C.) Type I, Type II, Type III, according to the indicating method of the tristimulus values X Y Z based on C.I.E. As a result of this, the following conclusions were obtained: 1. Due to the unevenness of the tooth surface, particularly where the teeth occlude, we had difficulties with our measurement, but the reformed M.C.C. was both useful and accurate because of its capacity to measure by on a small area of materials. The three types of M.C.C. Type I, Type II, Type III seem to differ in the light of measuring by optical detector. Considering the efficacy of measuring minute surface areas, it seems that M.C.C. Type III, which has a thin outline and these inner part is pressed into a diameter of φ0.5m/m is most accurate and easy to handle. 2. The values obtained from M.C.C. Type I, Type II, Type III clearly showed the difference of color between sound and carious teeth. 3. By measuring the teeth surface minutely, using M.C.C. Type III, we found that the lightness (Y Value) was darker in darker in the tooth root than the tooth crown both of the front teeth and the molars. 4. Labial was lightest on the surface of the front teeth and buccal on the molars. On the molars, lingual had the darkest value. 5. This instrument will contribute to the diagnosis of caries, judging from oral cavity and the measurement of color of dental materials.
