The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between Camper’s plane and skeletal profile types. The angles of the Camper’s plane to FH plane between straight type and convex type skeletal profiles were compared. The Camper’s plane that marked on the soft tissue of the profile was projected onto cephalometric X−ray film and was traced in order to measure the angle between FH plane and Camper’s plane. The samples were obtained from 50 randomly selected adult female patients, and then compared between the straight type and the convex type profiles for the angle of the Camper’s plane versus the FH plane. The angles of the Camper’s plane to the FH plane showed a significant difference, which in the straight type profile was 5.2 degrees, and in the convex type was 10.1 degrees. This study revealed that the Camper’s plane based on FH plane with the convex type profile sloped down forward strongly compared to the straight type profiles.
