| 内容記述 | The number, district distribution and ethnological cause of new patients during twenty years from 1974 to 1993 were studied statistically. The results were as follows: (1) The total number of new patients showed a gradual yearly increase except in 1984 and 1988. The number of the new patients from the area outside Shiojiri and Matsumoto Cities remarkably increased from 1989 to 1993. (2) On the etiological cause of patients, the pericoronitis of wisdom teeth and apical periodontitis were the major diseases. The number of patients with dysfunction of temporomandibular joint showed a increasing tendency in recent years. (3) On the age of patients with dysfunction of the temporomandibular joint, the number of patients in the teens and thirties was numerous while aged patients were scarce. (4) The number of the aged patients (more than 65 years old) remarkably increased in the last three years. | |||||||
